Recurring Billing for UK Telecom Resellers
Rentals, subscriptions and other regular charges billed on their own intervals, with pro-rating for mid-period changes.
What recurring billing covers
Recurring billing covers any charge raised on a regular interval rather than once. For a telecoms reseller that typically means line rentals, hosted seats, broadband, equipment, support and licences, billed alongside one-off charges and rated calls.
In SAFE, each recurring charge sits on a feature with its own interval and an advance or arrears setting. When a feature starts, stops or changes partway through a period, the charge is pro-rated and the invoice shows the dates covered.
Contract dates are held on the same records, and price increases can be scheduled in advance. The accuracy of the result still depends on the feature records being kept up to date when services change.
Charges Billed on Their Own Schedule
Recurring charges are raised by the billing run from the features on each account, so the same charge does not need entering each month:
- ✓Line rentals and features
- ✓Hosted seats and service subscriptions
- ✓Equipment rentals
- ✓Support plans
- ✓Software licences, with a feature count for multiple units
