Ask to Have It EnabledQuestions Answered From Live Billing Data
SAFE includes an MCP server, which lets an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT query the platform directly on behalf of a signed-in member of staff. Questions that would otherwise need a report or an export can be asked in plain English, for example:
- ✓"What did we invoice each month this year, broken down by dealer?"
- ✓"How much did we collect by Direct Debit last month, and how much failed?"
- ✓"Show me aged debt in 30, 60 and 90 day buckets."
- ✓"What were my ten largest invoices last month?"
- ✓"Find the customer on this phone number and show their overdue invoices."

What Your Assistant Can Do
Reporting and KPIs
Invoiced revenue, payments, Direct Debit collections, aged debt and customer growth, grouped by month, quarter, dealer or payment method.
Finding Records
Find a customer by name, account number, postcode or phone number, then retrieve their invoices, payments, numbers and services.
Taking Action
With write access granted, email an invoice, generate a payment link or suspend billing on a number, through the platform's own workflows and with confirmation for significant steps.
Typical Uses
Credit Control
List the largest unpaid balances with how overdue each one is, then, with write access, create payment links for the accounts you choose.
Month-End Reporting
Summarise a month's invoicing, collections, failed collections and new customers in one request, then ask follow-up questions about individual figures.
Customer Queries
Retrieve a customer's account, recent invoices and payment history when answering a billing query.
Routine Admin
Draft a covering note for an invoice, such as an explanation of a tariff change, for a member of staff to approve before the platform sends it.
Access and Security Controls
An AI connection can reach the same data as an API key, so it is controlled in the same way, through the platform's own permissions:
- ✓Standards-based sign-in: OAuth 2.1 with PKCE, so no API keys are copied into the assistant.
- ✓Individual connections: each member of staff approves their own connection with their normal login and two-factor authentication, and the assistant works within that person's permissions.
- ✓Granular consent: separate permissions for reporting KPIs, reading records, and making changes. Write access is off by default.
- ✓Audit trail: every query and action is logged and flagged as assistant activity, against the member of staff who made the connection.
- ✓Revocation: staff can revoke their own connections at any time, and administrators can switch off read or write access for the whole platform in one step.
How It Compares to the API
The MCP connection sits alongside the REST API. The API is for developers building system-to-system integrations; MCP lets individual members of staff work with the platform through an AI assistant, without code. Both use the same permission model and are covered in the platform documentation.
