What is SAFE CRM?

SAFE CRM is a sales workspace for UK telecoms resellers. It handles leads, deals, quotes, proposals, renewals, follow-ups and credit control. It runs on the same platform that already raises your bills.

That last part is the whole point. Most resellers run a CRM in one place and billing in another, then spend their week keeping the two in step. Prices get typed twice. A quote says one thing and the invoice says another. Someone exports a spreadsheet to work out which contracts end this quarter.

SAFE CRM removes that gap, because there is no gap to bridge. Sales and billing read the same record.

What SAFE CRM Covers

01

Shared Data

The CRM and the billing platform use one customer record. What a salesperson quotes is what billing raises. There is no sync job to fail and no export to re-key.

Deal Pipeline

Configurable stages, a drag-and-drop board, and a forecast that adds up. Deal values come from your real tariffs, weighted by probability and expected close date.

Quotes and Proposals

Build a quote from a package, offer choices side by side, and let the customer accept online. What they pick goes into the go-live queue ready to activate.

Sequences

Set up a follow-up cadence once and let it run. Emails and call tasks fire on the days you choose, and stop when you log a reply, the customer decides on a proposal, or the deal moves stage.

Four workspaces, one system

The CRM opens on a dashboard for the job you actually do. Each one shows the work waiting for you today, not a wall of charts.

Sales

Your pipeline, deals needing attention, quotes waiting on a reply, renewals coming up, and progress against target.

Credit Control

Who is overdue, who broke a payment arrangement, whose Direct Debit failed, and who has no way to pay you automatically.

Customer Services

Open questions from customers, accounts at risk of leaving, and correspondence waiting to be approved or sent.

Billing

Invoices raised and unsent, failed deliveries, payments and collection attempts, and cards about to expire.

Why not just use a general CRM?

You can, and plenty of resellers do. The trouble starts when the CRM has to know something only the billing system knows. Here is what having both in one place buys you.

  • Quotes priced from real tariffs: a quote is built from the same tariffs and packages billing uses, and those records carry through go-live rather than being typed again. Usage, tax, pro-rating and later changes can still move the first invoice.
  • Renewals you cannot miss: the radar reads contract end dates already held on your service records, with no data entry at all, and shows which ones have a renewal deal open.
  • Margin visible while you quote: sell price and carrier cost sit on the same record, so a deal that loses money is flagged before it is signed.
  • Churn warnings from real behaviour: health scoring reads usage, payment history and support activity, not a field someone remembered to update.
  • Credit control that knows the invoice: chasing reads the invoice ledger directly and checks again before sending, so a customer who has just paid is not chased.
  • No integration to maintain: there is no connector, no field mapping and no sync failure to debug on a Monday morning.

CRM Questions and Key Terms

What resellers ask before they add the CRM, plus short definitions of the terms that come up most.

What is SAFE CRM?
SAFE CRM is a sales and account management workspace for UK telecoms resellers. It covers leads, deals, quotes, proposals, renewals, follow-up sequences and credit control. It is built on the SAFE Billing Platform, so the sales side and the billing side read and write the same customer record.
How is this different from HubSpot or Salesforce?
A generic CRM stores whatever you type into it. Where the billing modules are active, SAFE CRM already knows what each customer pays, what it costs you, when their contract ends, how usage is trending and whether they pay on time, because billing is the same system. That makes renewals, margin checks and churn warnings possible with no connector to maintain. What a general CRM does well is breadth across every industry. What SAFE CRM does well is telecoms.
Can I use SAFE CRM without the SAFE Billing Platform?
Not at first. SAFE CRM is a module of the platform, and we are rolling it out to customers already billing with us. That is also where it works best, because the renewals radar, margin watch, health scoring, credit control and go-live all read your billing and service data. Standalone use is a longer-term goal rather than a promise, and whether we build it depends on demand. If you bill elsewhere and want it, tell us, because that is the demand we would be measuring.
Is the CRM included in my package?
No. SAFE CRM is a paid add-on rather than part of the core billing packages. Pricing sits alongside the billing packages on the Safe Online Billing pricing page.
Do sales staff need access to the billing system?
No. The CRM is its own workspace with its own login permissions. A salesperson sees deals, quotes and their own accounts without being dropped into billing runs and invoice screens. Access is controlled section by section, so you can give a credit controller the chase queues without giving them the sales forecast. That keeps you on the right side of the ICO's data minimisation principle: people see the customer data their job needs, and no more.
What does a lead look like before it becomes a customer?
A lead is a real customer record flagged as a lead, with pre-sale products attached to it. Those products carry the tariffs and prices you quoted, but they never reach a billing run. When the deal is won, the pre-sale records convert to live billing records on the date you set. Nothing is typed twice.
When will SAFE CRM be available?
It is launching soon. We are running final testing with early access customers now. Contact us if you would like to be among the first onto it.
What does CRM mean?
CRM (customer relationship management) is software that tracks your dealings with customers and prospects: who they are, what you have quoted them, what you have discussed, and what happens next. In telecoms it also has to cope with contracts, tariffs and renewals, which is where general CRM tools tend to run out of road.
What does quote-to-cash mean?
Quote-to-cash is the whole run from first quote through to money in the bank: quoting, winning the deal, provisioning the service, invoicing it, and collecting payment. Most resellers stitch that together from two or three systems. SAFE CRM and the SAFE Billing Platform cover it in one.
